A self proclaimed data nerd, from the day I got my first birds I have tracked and maintained data on all facets of my poultry keeping and subsequently breeding program. The solutions available on the market to capture, maintain, and access data like this were limited to a desktop computer experiences and never truly allowed me to track the data I wanted to capture and how I wanted to capture it. I wanted to be able to record incubation data while candling eggs, record health data while checking birds in their pens and quickly look up who the sire was for two birds I was contemplating on breeding while waiting in line at the store. That data capture and management experience was not available to me, so I decided to create it.
With the birdBreeder app, now you can record and reference your data while holding your birds in front of you, no need to be tied to a computer. Record health records for each bird and quickly find out the last time medication was administered or what tests had been conducted. Easily record data on every incubation or finances and analyze how the outcomes are trending. Simply, save time and make better decisions for your birds and your breeding program. I may not care about capturing the same data as the next person but I certainly would not want to lose the data I have already entered, so custom data field capture and database backup is built into the app. I built this app to use it personally and as I do I am constantly looking for ways to improve it, by making data easier to capture, more informative and more readily available.

- Automatic backups! Don’t stress about backing up your data anymore. When enabled, the app will automatically backup your database to your connected Dropbox account when the app enters the background.

- Calculate hatch dates automatically! Save the number of days for incubation by species in Settings to have lockdown and hatch dates automatically calculated when you enter set dates for those species.
- More easily delete records. You will now see a familiar trashcan when viewing individual records. Swipe to delete will still function as before.
